Best for college-bound students (starting as early as incoming 9th graders)

This interactive workshop is offered in two tracks designed to meet students where they are in their college-prep journey. If you are unsure of which Track is right for your student after reviewing the descriptions, send us an email at info@theskillsetcollective.com.

Track 1: Early Advantage

For students aiming for competitive or Ivy League colleges with a clear sense of their interests and future goals. Intended strategically for 8th graders and high school freshmen.

Preparing for college starts long before senior year. The College Compass equips students with the strategy, soft skills, and confidence to navigate the college journey with purpose and less stress. Through engaging, real-world lessons, students learn how to build a competitive college application over time—understanding the value of volunteerism, leadership roles, and extracurricular involvement early in high school.

Track 2: Senior Success

For students exploring their next steps after high school, including state universities, community colleges, or trade programs. Designed for high school juniors and seniors.

Many students start the college preparation process during their junior and senior year. Whether students are still exploring their options, choosing a college, or planning a gap year, strong soft skills form the foundation for success after high school.

Both tracks will help students develop essential self-presentation, communication, and organizational skills that prepare them for interviews, recommendation requests, and real-life opportunities beyond academics.

To support families, this course (Track 1 & 2) includes a virtual parent session offering step-by-step guidance on supporting your student, navigating the Common App, and managing deadlines with confidence.

Students leave this workshop with:

  • A clear, personalized college-prep roadmap
  • Leadership and communication skills that stand out to admissions teams
  • Greater confidence and direction for their next step—whether college, trade programs, or their first job
