The Sitter Skill Set + CPR Certification

Babysitting is often a teen’s first step into the working world—and this workshop ensures they take on that responsibility with confidence, professionalism, and safety.

Led by Amy, a Registered Nurse, students learn how to care for children of different ages, engage them in creative activities, and communicate effectively with parents. They’ll also earn CPR and basic safety certification, giving families peace of mind and helping them stand out as trusted, capable sitters.

Beyond childcare, teens discover how to treat babysitting like a small business—from managing multiple families to setting clear expectations around pay, scheduling, and professionalism.

Students leave this course:

• Certified in CPR and basic safety from the American Red Cross
• Fully equipped to babysit responsibly and independently
• Confident in running their own babysitting “business” that families will call on again and again
